Eine Modenschau in über 10.000 m Höhe an Bord einer 747-8? Ein Catwalk über dem Atlantik? Ein Fashion-Rückblick auf die Lufthansa Uniformen der letzten 60 Jahre?
All das wurde an Bord von Lufthnasa Flug LH400 von Frankfurt nach New York am 8. Februar möglich. Und ich war dabei!

Am 8. Februar 2017 hieß es: Ready for Take Off mit dem ersten Lufthansa Fashion Flight sponsored by Flying Lab! Auf über 10.000 m Höhe gab es gleich 2 Modeschauen. Neben den Lufthansa Uniformen der letzten 60 Jahre stellte noch der New Yorker Designer Rubin Singer seine aktuelle Kollektion vor.
Eine Modenschau auf über 10.000 m Höhe? Ja genau, wahnsinn!!! Ein paar Eindrücke von der Modenschau zeige ich Euch natürlich auch.

Durch die Plattform Flying Lab konnte man die ganze Zeit die Modenschau live auf seinem WLAN fähigen Gerät mitverfolgen, egal wo die Models gerade waren. Ebenfalls konnte man während des Fluges verschiedene Fashion Wearables testen.
Als wir angekommen sind hatten wir strahlenden Sonnenschein und 16 Grad. Leider hat meine Einreise etwas länger gedauert, sodass ich das schöne Wetter kaum genießen konnte. Nachdem wir in unseren Hotel, dem W Union Square, eingecheckt haben, sind wir in der Trattoria Florian am Union Square essen gegangen. Total niedlich und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war ebenfalls super!
Als wir am nächsten Morgen aufgewacht sind, lagen 30 cm Neuschnee und es wütete ein ziemlich krasser Schneesturm. Viele Geschäfte waren zu, das Programm wurde demnach abgesagt. Da wir denoch nicht auf dem Hotelzimmer bleiben wollten, sind wir ins MoMa gegangen. Ich finde das MoMa sehr cool, da dort auch moderne Kunst ausgestellt wird. Die Mischung aus klassischer und moderner Kunst ist super und vor allem abwechslungsreich. Anschließend waren wir noch mit Nina und Patrick im Central Park und haben in der wunscherschönen Winterlanschaft noch einige Bilder gemacht. Traumhaft schön!
Am Abend waren wir dann bei Breitling in den Flagship Store zu einem Empfang eingeladen.

Am nächsten Morgen ging es dann zu Redken auf die 5th Avenue. Dort habe ich mich auch endlich getraut, ein leichtes Balayage zu machen - und ich liebe es. Danke nochmals an Gianni!
Anschließed ging es ins Headquarter von Facebook und Instagram. Es war super, mal ein Blick hinter die Kulissen zu werfen. Die Büros sind ziemlich cool - überall gibt es Micro Kitchens, an denen man sich bedienen kann. Wenn man mal ein bisschen Abwechslung braucht, gibt es ein Laufband, auf dem man dann im Laufen arbeiten kann. Ziemlich cool! Ebenso gibt es im Office einige coole Picture Hotspots. Ich konnte es mir natürlich nicht nehmen lassen, auch einige Bilder zu machen.

Und hier endete die Zeit mit Lufthansa in New York auch schon. Mein Mann und ich haben aber noch zwei Tage dran gehängt und haben diese dann mit einem mega tollen Event begonnen. Mehr dazu gibt es in meinem nächsten Post ;-)

A fashion show in over 35.000 ft on board of a 747-8? A Catwalk above the atlantic? A fashion review of Lufthansa's uniforms of the past 60 years? All this was possible on board of Lufthansa flight LH400 from Frankfurt to New York on Febraury 8th!
On Febraury 8th it was time to take off with Lufthansa's first Fashion Flight sponsored by Flying Lab. 35.000 ft above the ground, there were two fashion shows. The first one showed the Lufthansa uniforms of the last 60 years, the second one featured some pieces of New York based Designer Rubin Singer. A fashion show in the skies? Amazing!!!
As the Flying Lab platform was available on the flight, everyone could see the entire fashion show on his mobile device, no matter where the models where. You could also test several fashion werables throughout the flight.
When we arrived, we had 16 ° C, blue sky and sunny weather. Unfortunately, it took me some time to go through immigration and therefore I couldn't enjoy the sunny weather. After checking-into our hotel, the W Union Square, we went out for dinner at Trattoria Florian on Union Square. The trattoria was cute, the food good and the prices too.
When we woke up the next day, we were surprised by 30 cm snow and a heavy snow storm. A lot of shops were closed, our program cancelled. But, as we didn't want to stay in our hotel room, we decided to visit the MoMa. I really like this museum because of the mix of contemporary and antique fashion. After the visit, we went to Central Park to take some pictures in the beautiful winter wonderland. Fantastic!
In the evening, we were invited to the Breitling Flagship Store for a reception.
The next morning, we headed to the Redken Exchange on 5th Avenue. Finally, I had the courage to do a soft balayage and I just love it - thanks to Gianni!
Afterwards, we went to the Facebook and Instagram Headquarter. It was interesting to have a look behind the scenes. The offices are pretty cool, there are micro kitchens everywhere where you can get snacks and drinks. If you need some change, you can go one a treadmill and work from there. Pretty cool! There are also some picture spots and as usual I had to take some pictures.
And this is when our time with Lufthansa ended. My husband and I extended our stay and started this with an amazing event! I'll tell you more in my next blog post ;-)
